As a 16-year-old boy Ansgar flees his home and joins the Danish fleet,
sailing for England to aid Lady Emma during the Rebellion of the Earls.
On the ships he meets men who are very different from his father.
The chaotic journey, which is to have a disastrous ending, takes him to
Norwich and Jorvik – the Sacking of York.
